The Value of Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) in Community and Public Health Education, Event Planning and Emergency Response

Date
Wednesday - 11:30am - 12:30pm

The MRC is a national network of medical and non-medical volunteers who contribute their time and expertise to help communities throughout the country prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters and public health emergencies.

MRC units continuously recruit, train and activate volunteers to strengthen public health, improve response capabilities, and build community resiliency. When emergencies strike, MRC volunteers can be deployed to respond within the ICS structure.

MRC volunteers are excellent community partners bringing skills, knowledge and experience that fulfills personnel surge needs during planned events and emergency responses. This session reviews examples and potential opportunities for MRC engagement/integration.
