Bus accidents occur frequently, and first responders need to understand the differences between them and the usual passenger vehicle accident. This lecture will cover school and commercial bus accidents and how EMS providers mitigate these multi-victim incidents. The student will learn about the overall structures of a bus, the extrication techniques for both types of incidents, and the safety issues involved for both the provider and patients. EMS providers will learn several strategies to help improve the efficiency of patient packaging and treatment. Are you and your organization ready to respond and correctly handle these devastating multi-victim incidents?
