During the 2024 presidential campaign, the candidates hosted events in communities across the nation. Each event required close coordination among federal, state, and local public safety personnel to ensure the safety of all involved. On July 13, 2024, in Butler, Pennsylvania, a single shooter shattered that sense of safety and challenged the responder community.   

Hear from representatives of the Butler County Department of Emergency Services and the HCSWPA as they share an overview of the emergency management and EMS response, including the incident timeline, critical roles played by various agencies, resource shortages, and the importance of pre-established relationships among responders.
