Heather Owen

Heather Owen, RN, is an Emergency Department Nurse Navigator and SANE Program Coordinator at Penn State Health St. Joseph. She has worked in emergency nursing since 2014 and completed Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) training through the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) in 2018. Heather served as Co-Chair of the SANE Program from 2022 to 2025 and currently serves as SANE Program Coordinator. Her work focuses on forensic nursing, trauma-informed care, and interdisciplinary collaboration to improve outcomes for patients affected by violence and trauma.
