Daniel Bledsoe

Dr. Bledsoe has been a member of the EMS community since 1989. After joining his local fire department when in high school over 30 years ago, Dr. Bledsoe is the Pennsylvania Commonwealth EMS Medical Director, in addition to currently serving as EMS medical director for UPMC in the Central Pennsylvania region, with oversight over several agencies, including Lancaster EMS, UPMC Community LifeTeam EMS and a regional online medical control facility serving six counties. He actively participates in field operations and has served as interim chief of two hospital based EMS services in times of transition. While attending undergraduate education at WVU and medical school at Marshall University, Dan served as an EMT-Basic and instructor with Jan-Care Ambulance, Monongalia County Emergency Services, and Marshall University EMS. Dr. Bledsoe is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services through the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He has worked in hospitals of all sizes, from Huntingdon County to Level 1 Trauma Centers, He currently serves as medical director for the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences (Lancaster EMS) paramedic program and a Medical Team Manager for Pennsylvania Task Force One, one of 28 FEMA USAR teams, having deployed in support of disasters from Hurricane Katrina to the Surfside collapse. In addition, he has performed many physician site reviews for CAAS over the last 15 years. He is proud to have been a site principal investigator and EMS coordinator for the RAMPART trial, which was conducted with York area EMS agencies, including the leading enroller in Pennsylvania, White Rose Ambulance. He makes his home in York, Pennsylvania, where he lives with his wife, Allison, and four children and enjoys golfing when he's not in uniform
