Michael Musso

Michael Musso is a trauma & critical care surgeon at Reading Hospital. He completed medical school at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013 and general surgery residency through the Late Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine at Western Reserve Hospital in 2018. He subsequently completed his surgical critical care fellowship at Reading Hospital in 2019 and has been practicing in the Division of Trauma since that time. His professional interests extend beyond the hospital walls with a focus on pre-hospital care & disaster medicine. He serves as the physician lead for the hospital's Scene Patient Recovery Clinical (SPaRC) Team, bringing the trauma team to the field to provide in-the-field critical care. In addition to his civilian role, Dr. Musso is a proud member of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, serving on the Ground Surgical Team with the 111th Attack Wing. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife, Jody, an Emergency Medicine physician also at Reading Hospital, their three daughters and dog, Netter.
