Brian McCauley

Dr. Brian McCauley hails from Northeastern Pennsylvania, served six years in the United States Air Force as an Independent Duty Medical Technician-Paramedic. Upon discharge, he worked at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as a Paramedic initially, then as a Technologist in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and finally as the Director of Cardiovascular Research. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and a Master's in Public Health from Drexel University. As a member of the inaugural class of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and received the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award. Dr. McCauley completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Brown University, earning the Resident Teaching Award and the Haffenreffer House Staff Excellence Award. He returned to Penn for Fellowships in Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, and Structural Interventional, receiving two additional teaching awards. In July of 2023, Dr. McCauley joined Reading Hospital as a Interventional/Structural Cardiologist, serving as the Director of the Cardiogenic Shock Team and Structural Innovation. His honors include the Physician Collaboration Award, Cardiology Master Educator Award, and the Nirav Patel Teacher of the Year. His clinical interests encompass hemodynamics, cardiogenic shock, critical care cardiology, pulmonary embolism management, complex coronary interventions, and structural heart disease. Outside of work, Dr. McCauley enjoys spending time with his wife and and two sons (Ages 16 & 21 years), and is an avid outdoorsman who loves hiking, camping, and fishing in the PA Wilds.
