Giving it All: The Cost of Being a First Responder

Through providing a vital service to the communities they support, first responders are exposed to horrific trauma regularly, if not daily. However, many often face stigma and barriers to seeking proper treatment for behavioral health concerns. Unfortunately, this is a key component in the heightened risk of suicide that first responders face. We must work to reduce and eliminate this stigma, while also facilitating access to needed services.
