Beyond “Aim for the Bubbles”: Airway Management in Trauma

The first priority in managing a major trauma patient is to establish and maintain a patent airway. However, airway management in a trauma patient can present a variety of unique challenges beyond placement of an endotracheal tube; outcomes are often dependent on the provider’s ability to predict and anticipate difficulty and have a safe and executable plan. In this session, we will focus on the assessment and management of the trauma patient’s airway, with tips and tools to manage even the most difficult cases.
